In post-press processing, the folding scheme is the sequence of folds (breaks) on a folded sheet .

A folded sheet can be processed in a modern folding machine in many ways and in several directions, depending on the processing options. The sequence of the individual processing steps and their directions result in different end products, e.g. B. Supplement, Leporello , location .

Special symbols and characters are defined for each individual break and the direction of processing and, recorded one after the other, result in a certain image, the folding scheme .
