Famara Ibrahima Sagna

Famara Ibrahima Sagna (born November 26, 1938 in Ziguinchor , Casamance , Senegal ) is a former Senegalese politician .

Life

Famara Ibrahima Sagna, who belongs to the Diola people , became a member of the Parti Socialiste du Senegal (PS). He was both a member of the PSa's Politburo and National Secretary for the Economy. He also served as Administrative Director of the Dakar Free Industrial Zone . During the tenure of President Abdou Diouf, he held numerous ministerial offices in his presidential governments. Between 1986 and 1988 he was Minister for Rural Development (Ministre du Développement Rural) and as such was responsible for agriculture, livestock and fisheries. He then served as Minister for Industrial Development and Crafts (Ministre du Développement industriel et de l'Artisanat) from 1988 to 1990 , where he was responsible for industry, mining and geology, energy and craft. He then served from March 27, 1990 to April 8, 1991 as Minister of the Interior (Ministre de l'Intérieur) . In the cabinet of Prime Minister Habib Thiam, he held the post of Minister for Economy, Finance and Planning (Ministre de l'Économie, des Finances, du Plan) from April 1991 to June 1993 . Most recently he also took over the post of Minister for African Integration (Ministre de l'Intégration africaine) from Jean-Paul Dias , which he also held until June 1993.
