Family Media GmbH & Co. KG is a publisher for children's and family titles in German-speaking countries.

From January 2004 to July 2009 focused family Media, a joint venture of Axel Springer AG , Berlin, and the OZ-Verlag GmbH , Rheinfelden (Baden) on which the partners were each hold 50%. On July 1, 2009, the publisher Christian Medweth, who, among other things, is the sole owner of OZ Verlags GmbH with his brother Michael, acquired the 50 percent stake that Axel Springer AG held in Family Media and thus became the publisher's sole shareholder in Freiburg im Breisgau. The company publishes the family magazines Familie & Co , Baby & Co , KINDERZEIT and VEGAN for me as well as the Velber brand book series in the family guide and educational children's book area.

At the company headquarters in Freiburg im Breisgau , twelve people were temporarily (as of June 2013) employed.

A long-term decline in sales and a difficult advertising situation led to downsizing and the discontinuation of the magazines Spiel und Lern , Lillebi and a reduction in the circulation of the magazine Baby & Co in 2012 and 2013 . The children's magazines spiel mit and Treff were also discontinued in 2012.
