The fan curve is commonly referred to as the area of a football stadium in which supporters of the same club (usually also the ultra groups ) come together to support their team from there. These areas are usually located on a grandstand or a curve behind one of the gates. Often there is standing room and the fan curve is usually opposite to the guest block. With flags, banners etc. the fans give their "curve" color and thus mark their territory. Over time, these fan curves and stands have become the trademark of a stadium or even an entire club. The term "curve" comes from the fact that most stadiums used to have an athletics facility and thus an oval shape.
