The Fantasia on British Sea Songs is a fantasy of British seaman's songs compiled and arranged by Sir Henry Wood in 1905 for the centenary of the Battle of Trafalgar . For many years she was a permanent repertoire piece of the Last Night of the Proms the BBC .

The Fantasia on British Sea Songs was first used by Henry Wood and the Queen's Hall Orchestra in a Promenade concert given on 21 October 1905th It consists of nine parts that describe the Battle of Trafalgar from the perspective of a seaman:

  4. Tom Bowling
  5. Jack's The Lad ( Hornpipe )
  6. Farewell and Adieu, Ye Spanish Ladies
  7. Home, sweet home
  8. See, the Conqu'ring Hero Comes (known in Germany as Daughter Zion, rejoice )
  9. Rule, Britannia!

The six opening bugle calls take up traditional signals , titled Admiral's salute , Action , General Assembly , Landing Party , Prepare to Ram and Quick, Double, Extend and Close .
