The Fantasia in C minor KV 396 (385f) in C minor is a fragment of a Mozart violin sonata , dated from 1782.

Possibly the fragment belonged to a collection of violin sonatas planned by Mozart for his wife Constanze . The piece shows references to Mozart's increased preoccupation with Johann Sebastian Bach this year . The toccata elements should either Mozart or Bach in the works of his son Carl Philipp Emanuel met.
