Farashgard , meaning “revival of Iran” (Persian: فَرَشگَرد, English Iran Revival ) is a political action network founded in 2018 by Iranians in exile.

    history

Farashgard was founded by 40 Iranian activists from the US, Canada, Europe and Iran in September 2018, ten months after the Iranian protests began in December 2017 .

Farashgard supporters want to launch a civil disobedience campaign in Iran that will be broadcast via Persian-language television and radio broadcasts from abroad as well as social media. With spray paint on buildings, billboards and shop windows, a march of millions is to be called across Iran on Shahyad Square (Azadi) in Tehran. The color turquoise is propagated, traditionally the color of the Iranian monarchy. The nature of the connection between Farashgard and Reza Pahlavi , the eldest son of the last Persian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi , is not known.

    aims

Farashgard advocates secular democracy in Iran , either through a republic or a constitutional monarchy . However, the exact form of a future political system is to be determined by the Iranian people after the overthrow of the current form of government, the Islamic Republic.

The group's motto is: "We will retake Iran and rebuild it". Its original name Farashgard was metaphorically named after the Middle Persian concept of Frashokereti .

The first signatories stated in an open letter in September 2018:

    • The form of government of the Islamic Republic is an existential threat to Iran, the Iranians and cannot be reformed. She must be overthrown.
    • A secular, liberal democracy is to be created that guarantees the separation between the state and religious institutions and freedom of conscience . The exact form of government is to be determined by the Iranian people after the overthrow of the Iranian Republic.
    • There must be equal rights for all Iranians, regardless of belief, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. The future laws of Iran must be in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights .
    • Islamist and communist ideologies are responsible for much of the destruction in Iran today and can cause damage in the future. Farashgard will keep his distance from both ideologies and distance himself from them.
    • The regime's current anti-Western, anti-American and anti-Israel foreign policy is detrimental to the national interests and well-being of Iranians.
    • Reza Pahlavi is said to play a key role in uniting the secular democratic opposition to the Islamic Republic and to ensure peace, national unity and territorial integrity of Iran during the transition phase to a democratic and secular state.
