Color fan

A color fan is a fan-like catalog that contains all the defined colors of a color system in the form of spreads or prints on paper or a special substrate. The individual color shades in the fan are based on a defined recipe, with the help of which the color shades from individual components can be mixed well in different color (paint) qualities. The use of color fans is restricted as soon as the surfaces or the substrate differ from the fan and the target surface. Therefore, color fans with different surfaces are available (for example, matt and glossy or painted and printed).

Color fans serve as an aid for color selection and for matching colors in the manufacturing process (for example between the client and the printer). They are mainly used by graphic designers and printers when creating print products . But color fans are also used in other sectors (such as industry or construction) that regularly deal with paint, varnish or design.
