Josef Herget (born November 16, 1957 in Karlsbad , Czechoslovakia ) is a German information scientist . He founded the Konstanz-based consulting company IMAC Information & Management Consulting , which emerged from a Steinbeis Transfer Center of the Steinbeis Foundation . Herget is also active as a professor, project manager, expert and reviewer for the EU and UNESCO , among others , and is a member of the program committees of numerous international scientific conferences. Herget is, among other things, board member of the University Association for Information Science , scientific advisory board of the information and communication ring of financial service providers . Herget is also the author of numerous specialist books.

biography

Herget holds a doctorate in information science and holds degrees in administrative science, information science and business administration . He was a lecturer in economics, held various postgraduate teaching positions in the field of information management since 1986, worked at the University of Konstanz from 1989 to 1994, founded the Steinbeis Transfer Center Information Markets and Management Consulting in 1994 with Rainer Kuhlen , was from 1998 to 2000 University professor for business informatics at the Marmara University Istanbul (German-speaking departments for business administration and business informatics) and from 2001 to 2008 professor and head of the department for information science at the HTW Chur (Switzerland), from 2008 to 2012 at the Danube University Krems, initially as Head of the Center for Knowledge and Information Management, from 2011 also as Head of the Department for Knowledge and Communication Management, from 2012 as Director of Research. Since 2013 head of the Excellence Institute - Research & Solutions in Vienna.
