Fahimeh Farsaie

Fahimeh Farsaie (born February 14, 1952 in Tehran ) is an Iranian-German author, journalist and human rights activist.

Life

Fahimeh Farsaie studied art history and law and from 1970 worked as an editor, film and literary critic for several Iranian newspapers. She also worked as a foreign correspondent in London for the largest Iranian daily newspaper, Keyhan. Because of her passion for committed art and literature, she was imprisoned for 18 months under the Shah's regime . Under the Khomeini government, she was also persecuted for telling an anti-war story and had to flee with her family.

She has lived in Germany since 1983, works as a freelance journalist a. a. for Deutsche Welle.
