Farzaneh Kaboli

Farzaneh Kaboli (* 1949 in Tehran ) is an Iranian dancer , choreographer and actress .

Life

Farzaneh Kaboli was born in Tehran in 1949. Her parents were musicians and her uncle was a theater pioneer and lecturer at the drama school in Tehran. After studying ballet at the Iranian Ballet Academy, she trained as a solo dancer and head of the Iranian folkloric dance group in Tehran from 1971 to 1979. She studied with Hayedeh Ahmadzadeh (Prima Ballerina in Iran) and Robert de Warren and his wife Jacqueline at the Academy of National Folklore in Tehran. After various engagements as a solo dancer and leader, she has so far choreographed many dances, each of which she does herself. She was imprisoned twice for her dance activities after the 1979 revolution . For over 30 years she has also played in many television series and movies.
