The Fascia transversalis abdominis is a fascia and represents a connective tissue part of the abdominal wall. Besides the Fascia endothoracica it is part of the inner trunk fascia . The transversalis fascia borders directly on the peritoneum in the direction of the abdominal cavity and is closely connected to it. Outwardly, it forms the inner delimitation of the transversus abdominis muscle , the rectus abdominis muscle and the iliopsoas muscle .

In men, male mammals and bitches , the transversalis fascia together with the peritoneum form the vaginal process .
