The Fatima Chapel is a court chapel in Aitrach in the Ravensburg district in Upper Swabia .

description

The not easted Fatima Chapel was built in 1950. It is located on the 7922 district road , which connects Aitrach with Aichstetten . It is located on the banks of the Aitrach and, in contrast to the Schlecht court chapel , which is only five hundred meters away on the street, is hardly recognizable from the street. The father of the current owner of the farm had it built out of gratitude that the war-participating son had returned home safe and sound from the war and captivity of the Second World War . The chapel was dedicated to the Madonna of Our Lady of the Immaculate Heart of Fatima .

The small facility is enclosed by a fence. The chapel is roughly in the middle of it. It has a steep gable roof , two windows each on the east and west side and a window on the northern front side with the initials of Maria, above the wooden entrance door. The roof is made of sheet metal. From the inside, the roof is clad with a tongue and groove connection made of spruce and fir wood. The seating in the chapel consists of four symmetrically placed knee benches and a central knee bench in front of the altar. The waist-high wooden altar bears the inscription “Our Lady of Fatima please for us!” On the altar there is a larger than life replica of the Madonna of Fatima. A cross with a corpus is attached to the left side of the wall.

The chapel belongs to the ensemble of four chapels in the district of Aitrach.
