Fatou Sinyan Mergan

Fatou Sinyan Mergan (also: Sinyang , Mbergan or Mberegan ) is a Gambian manager.

Life

Sinyan Mergan attended St. Joseph's High School in Banjul , which she graduated in 1980.

She studied at the Maastricht School of Management in 1993/1994 and graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Accounting and Finance .

Sinyan Mergan started working for the Gambian beverage company Banjul Breweries after graduating . From at least 2005 to 2010 she was there Financial Controller to 2012 Director of Finance and Administration , and in 2013 finally Secretary General ( Secretary General ).

In May 2006 she was elected Treasurer of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and later re-elected at least until 2012. In October 2012, she ran for the presidency of the GCCI, but received fewer votes than Muhammad M. Jagana .

In February 2008, she turned down the offer of Gambian President Yahya Jammeh to take over the post of High Commissioner in Nigeria .

In 2009 she was awarded the Order of the Republic of The Gambia by the President of the Gambia in the officer level .

From March 2009 until at least March 2011 she was CEO of Green Industries Ltd. who made clothing and offered training for young people.

From 2010 to at least April 2015 she was Chair of the Board of Directors of the Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GIEPA).

At the end of 2018 she was a member of the National Business Council of The Gambia. In June 2019 she was elected Vice President of the newly founded Gambia Women's Chamber of Commerce (GWCC).
