Fauda ( Arabic فوضى, DMG fauḍạ̄  , chaos, mess, chaos, disorder; Anarchy; Unplannedness') is an Israeli television series that has been shown on Yes Oh television since 2015. The second season started in Israel on December 31, 2017 and on Netflix on May 24, 2018. The third season has aired in Israel since December 26, 2019 and has been available on Netflix since April 16, 2020.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict provides the background for the events surrounding a Mista'aravim special unit of the Israeli Defense Forces . This is on the hunt for the Hamas terrorist Abu-Ahmed, known as "The Panther". On the other hand, the series deals with the actions of Abu-Ahmed's family and the genesis of their struggle against the State of Israel.

In Israel, the series received six awards in 2016, including the award for best series. In December 2017, the New York Times named the best foreign series of 2017. In 2018, the series received eleven Israeli television "Oscars", including first prize for best actor ( Lior Raz ), best screenplay, best cast and the best special effects .

criticism

George Zeidan called Fauda in an article in Haaretz 2020 "not only stupid, lying and sadly absurd, but anti-Palestinian agitation".

The producers Issacharoff and Raz, on the other hand, claimed, according to United with Israel , that the series was also attracting interest from viewers in the Arab world.
