Lior Raz (born November 24, 1971 in Maʿale Adummim ) is an Israeli actor and screenwriter .

Live and act

Lior Raz was born in 1971 in the Israeli settlement of Maʿale Adummim in the West Bank . After graduating from school, he completed his military service and became part of the Jechidat Duvdevan special unit of the Israeli armed forces , which acted against terrorists in the West Bank. After completing his military service, Raz moved to the United States in 1993 , where he worked as a bodyguard for personalities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger , his wife Maria Shriver and Nastassja Kinski .

After returning to Israel, Raz took acting classes at the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio in Tel Aviv and performed as Don Juan and Macbeth at the Gesher Theater . In 2014, Raz and screenwriter Avi Issacharoff had the idea for the TV series Fauda , which has been shown on the TV channel Yes Oh since 2015. Since December 2, 2016, this has also been available via the streaming provider Netflix . In this series, Raz also takes on the lead role as Doron Kabilio, a member of the Jechidat Duvdevan special unit.

Lior Raz is married to the Israeli actress Meital Barda .
