Faust (* 1885 in Normandy ) was an Anglo-Norman in the heavy warmblood type and a trademark stallion of the Württemberg warmblood breed .
Faust was born in Normandy and imported in 1888 at the age of 3. He was set up as a breeding stallion by the state stable master von Hofacker in the Marbach state stud . With him, the breed was aligned and consolidated on a versatile warmblood business horse, which was particularly suitable for driving .
Faust was thus a founder of the type that is now called Altwürttemberger . The breed type of the Altwürttemberger was drawn into the 1950s. Later, the market for heavy warm-blooded animals collapsed completely and they were bred towards modern sport horses. Since 1988 there has been a development association whose breeders try to preserve the threatened Altwürttemberger.
