Fistball Elgg

Fistball Elgg (abbreviated FB Elgg ) is a fistball club from Elgg in the canton of Zurich . The club participates in the Swiss men's national league A in a syndicate with FBV Ettenhausen , and in this syndicate also provides teams in the national league B and the first division. The juniors and amateur teams below the 1st division continue to start for the club and not for the syndicate.

history

Fistball was first played in the Elgg gymnastics club around 40 years ago. On February 24, 1989, an independent fistball team was founded under the name FB Elgg . In 1997 the FB Elgg hosted the U18 European Championship . On 25/26 August 1999 the World Cup preliminary round for men was held in Elgg . Since the promotion of the first teams in the indoor seasons 1999/00 and 2000, Elgg has been a permanent member of the National League A. In 2002 and 2004, FB Elgg finished the championship in third place.

In 2008, together with the NLB and former NLA club FBV Ettenhausen, the game community FG Elgg-Ettenhausen was founded. Under this name she won the runner-up title in 2009. In 2011 the syndicate won the cup and in 2013 it was again third in the championship.
