Yvonne Bernart

Yvonne Bernart (* 1965 in Karlsruhe ; † May 5, 2010 ) was a German sociologist .

Life

Bernart did her Abitur on the second educational path after training and employment at the Deutsche Bundespost in Karlsruhe. She studied literature, philosophy and sociology and completed her studies with the Magister Artium (MA) on the image of society under Theodor Fontane . She did her doctorate on the homeless in Karlsruhe. She then took on teaching positions at the University of Karlsruhe and the University of Landau . In 2001 she completed her habilitation with a thesis on the development of the empirical position in the tradition of Auguste Comte . Bernhard Schäfers from Karlsruhe supervised both the doctorate and habilitation . In 2008 Bernart was appointed adjunct professor of sociology. She died on May 5, 2010 in Karlsruhe.

Research priorities

Her research focus and interests were youth and migration sociology, the theoretical history of sociology and the qualitative methods of empirical social research.
