Spring football world championship

After the International Shuttlecock Federation (ISF) was launched as a spring football world association in Hanoi (Vietnam) in 1999 , the first spring football world championship took place in Újszász, Hungary , from July 15 to 20, 2000 . Participating nations were China, Vietnam, Taiwan, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany and Hungary, with Vietnam taking gold medals in five of seven disciplines. Germany won the bronze medal in women's doubles with Diana Ruttar and Silke von Rüden (both Federfußballclub Hagen eV) as well as with the men's team consisting of Sven Walter, Michael Kowallik, Peter Müller and Peter von Rüden (all FFC Hagen).

World Championship 2001

From September 17th to 23rd, 2001, the 2nd World Championship took place in Wuxi, China. Participants were Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Laos, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Germany, Finland and Hungary. The selection of the German Spring Football Association (DFFB) was denied precious metal. Nonetheless, Pasquale Salimbeni from VfL Eintracht Hagen wrote a piece of spring football history when he was the first European to defeat a Chinese individual and clinched fourth place. The most successful nation with five gold medals was Vietnam, ahead of host China, which celebrated gold twice.

World Championship 2002

The 3rd world championship will be organized by the Hagen spring football club from October 20 to 26 in the Mittelstadt sports hall in Hagen . 120 athletes from Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Laos, Cambodia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary and Germany took part, with the German Spring Football Association as the host in each discipline. The most successful nation was Vietnam with four gold medals, followed by China with three gold medals.

World Championship 2005

In 2003 the World Cup should take place in Hong Kong . But the spread of the SARS virus in Southeast Asia prompted the ISF to cancel the title fights, so that the 4th World Championship was held from December 13th to 18th, 2005 in Guangzhou , China . The most successful nation with seven gold medals was Vietnam ahead of China, which won gold twice.

World Championship 2007

In 2007 Hungary hosted the World Cup for the second time. This took place from October 7th to 10th in Szolnok . The field of participants consisted of Bulgaria, China, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Macau, Pakistan, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Vietnam and Hungary, which hosted two teams.
