Spring clip

A spring clip is used to connect several components to one another. The force of a spring is used to fix the elements by self-locking . The spring clamp connection - like the screw and the wedge - is one of the non-positive connections in mechanical engineering . As a rule, it is desirable that sharp edges of the spring dig into the clamping points under load.

The construction principle requires permanent spring properties. With some materials, the elasticity decreases over time. Spring clamp connections enable short assembly times and are therefore widespread in construction.

Since the concerns about a mechanically permanent and electrically safe electrical contact were dispelled, this method has found its way into electrical installations in many variants as a terminal . A spring-loaded terminal is often used here .
