The light railway from Andenelle was operated by 1916-1955 Vineyard - works railway in Andenne in the province of Namur in the Walloon part of Belgium .

Route

The Decauville railway with a gauge of 600 mm ran from the Doupagne quarry in the Bois de Tiarmont on the Route de Haillot to the north through the former Andenelle district to the Meuse .

A small steam locomotive pulled the wagons. The train was called Le Coucou ( The Cuckoo ) and was in use until the 1950s.

The quarry was operated by Doupagne et Cie (1916), Ougrée-Marihaye (1932) and then Cockerill , which ceased operations on July 4, 1965. Carmeuse then took over the site, but did not exploit it.

After it was closed, the quarry remained largely unchanged. Today it is under nature protection.
