Field factory

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the construction industry, a field factory is the production of precast concrete parts at the construction site .

Such a production comes into question with a large number of identical components (e.g. stadium construction). The advantages are cheaper transport (only bulk goods) and lower costs per component.

However, the new DIN 1045 has resulted in different requirements for the construction quality. The necessary special formwork and quality assurance have meant that companies only deal specifically with the operation of field factories.
