history

The nucleus of the unit was the front-line intelligence service established in the 1960s. In 1970 the partially active front news teaching company 300 was set up in Bad Ems . Because they belonged to the reconnaissance troops, the soldiers wore the golden yellow weapon color and the black beret. The last partially active element was the field news training company 300 in Diez an der Lahn in 2002 . Since 2002, this unit, together with the Air Force field intelligence forces, has formed the Bundeswehr's field intelligence center. In the army, partially active field message trains were planned at the level of the divisions and their subordinate brigades, which were set up gradually until 2004.

The center was subordinate to the army command until it was reorganized into a brigade-equivalent command . Since 1 October 2007 and in the course of preparation of army reconnaissance troop to the training center army reconnaissance troop assumed and set up other associations last Bundeswehr field news capabilities available. On March 30, 2008, the center was dissolved and the associated field intelligence forces were assigned directly to the divisions of the Army.
