Felice Lombardi

Felice Lombardi (born July 12, 1791 in Airolo ; † June 20, 1863 ibid) was a politician and head of the hospice on the Gotthard Pass .

Life

He was the son of the mountain farmer Giuseppe Lombardi. First he completed an apprenticeship as a tailor in Milan , then he returned home and worked as a mail conductor on the Gotthard route. In 1828 he was given the monopoly in the canton of Ticino for the production of beer for ten years .

As a politician he sat on the Ticino Grand Council between 1834 and 1839 and was appointed head of the hospice on the Gotthard Pass by the Ticino State Council in 1841.
