Feliks Przytycki

Feliks Marian Przytycki (* 1951 in Warsaw ) is a Polish mathematician who deals with dynamic systems.

Przytycki studied mathematics at the University of Warsaw from 1969, graduating in 1974, received his doctorate in 1977 under Karol Krzyżewski and completed his habilitation in 1983. From 1976 he was at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IMPAN). There he was deputy director responsible for science from 1998 to 2002 and 2006 to 2010 and director from 2010. In 1992 he received the title of professor. At the same time he taught at the University of Warsaw from 1989 to 2001.

Among other things, he was visiting scholar at the Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (IMPA) in Rio de Janeiro, at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHES), the University of Warwick, the State University of New York at Stony Brook (SUNY), the Yale University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Przytycki was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Rio de Janeiro 2018 (Thermodynamic formalism methods in one-dimensional real and complex dynamics). He is a member of the Warsaw Scientific Society (1994) and a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is also the chairman of the Polish National Committee at the International Mathematical Union .

He is on the editorial board of Fundamenta Mathematicae and Studia Mathematica .
