Felix Eikmeier
Felix Eikmeier (* 1992) is a German canoe polo player.
Life
Eikmeier is a trained carpenter and grew up in Berne. He plays canoe polo for the Bundesliga club TuS Warfleth and is a member of the German U21 national team. He was discovered by national trainer Holger Diedrich and was able to recommend himself for membership in the national team in 2011 in various performance tests in strength, endurance, driving and throwing exercises as well as international tournaments in Essen , Mechelen and Saint-Omer (Pas-de-Calais) . At the 2011 European Championship in Madrid, he played with the German team in the final against France. The German team led 3-2, which the French team equalized in the last minute and won 4-3 in extra time. Felix Eikmeier became Vice European Champion with the German team. A reunion of these two teams was eagerly awaited at the 2012 World Cup in Poznan, but that was not to come. At the 2012 World Cup in Poznan, Poland, the German team defeated all opponents in the preliminary round and reached the semi-finals against England. A goal by the English in the last seconds of the game brought the only World Cup defeat, the German team got bronze.
