Fell of Barhullion
The Hillfort on the Fell of Barhullion is south of Wigtown , east of Port William in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland .
The small oval fort on the summit of Fell of Barhullion, measuring approximately 125.0 mx 54.0 m, offers views in all directions except to the east. It was built in two phases. The first consisted of an earth wall, the second of an approximately 3.0 m thick in places double wall. The fragments of the wall are visible in the western part of the fort. An outer band of blocks about four feet high may have been another wall from which most of the material has been removed, but more like a cheval de frise . Of the two gaps in the wall, the southern one is the original entrance, while the eastern one may have been a secondary entrance.
