Rock carving from Ladybower Tor
The Felsritzung of Ladybower Tor is located on the eastern side of Ladybower Tor in Derbyshire in England in a jumble of rocks. It is eroded and therefore difficult to see.
The petroglyphs are carved into the flat surface of a boulder that sits beneath the tallest rock in the outcrop . The motifs consist of a small pair of rings near the edge and a larger, open ring with a few short, mostly T-shaped incisions in the middle, about 5-star-shaped. What this central feature can be is unclear. It has been interpreted as a swastika , but bears little resemblance to the example on the rock carvings on Ilkley Moor in West Yorkshire .
