A Femlin is a comic book character on the Playboy joke pages .

history

Femlins were developed by LeRoy Neiman in 1955 because Hugh Hefner, the publisher of Playboy, wanted an optical element for the joke page. The term is a portmanteau made up of "female" and " gremlin ." The Femlins are almost naked and only wear black high-heeled shoes, arm-length gloves and opaque hold-ups, leg-length stockings. The material of the gloves and the stockings is the same.
