Fencing Federation of Afghanistan

The Fencing Federation of Afghanistan is the national umbrella organization for the sport of fencing in Afghanistan. In 2005 it was accepted as the 116th national association in the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime and is a member of the Asian continental association FCA . The current president is Ahmad Tariq Roshangar , and General Secretary Mir Zarifuddin .

On September 29, 2005, the Fencing Federation of Afghanistan was provisionally accepted as the 116th member of the FIE. Membership was confirmed in the 2005 Executive Committee annual report. Although initially there were major problems in obtaining the expensive fencing material, in 2011 over 100 fencers took part in a national tournament. In 2006 Muzammil Farooq fought as the first representative of Afghanistan at the World Championships in Turin and finished 149th.
