The Fend Flitzer was a car made by the German manufacturer Fend .

description

The Fend Flitzer was a particularly small and light three-wheeled vehicle that only offered space for one person. The motor was mounted in front of the individual rear wheel and drove it. With a wheelbase of 1500 mm and a front track width of 1000 mm, the vehicle was 2000 mm long, 1151 mm wide and 1100 mm high. Between August 1948 and December 1951, a total of around 282 vehicles were built in three successive series, which differed in terms of their engines and, as a result, of their curb weight and performance.

First series

The first series was on the market from August 1948 to March 1949. An air-cooled single - cylinder two-stroke engine from the Victoria works with 38 cm³ displacement and 1 hp was used. He accelerated the 75 kg vehicle to a maximum of 40 km / h. The only body variant was that of a coupé in which the upper part of the body could be folded forward. About 30 vehicles were built, which were sold at a price of 938 DM .

Second series

98 copies of the second series were produced between March 1949 and March 1950 and sold for DM 1,285. In addition to the coupé, a roadster was now also in the range. An air-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engine from Fichtel & Sachs with a displacement of 98 cm³ and an output of 2.5 hp propelled the vehicle. Despite the curb weight increased to 95 kg, the maximum speed was now specified as 60 km / h.

Third series

The third series appeared in March 1950 and remained on the market until production was discontinued in December 1951. An air or blower-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engine from Riedel with a displacement of 98 cm³ and an output of 4.5 hp enabled a top speed of 75 km / h. The vehicle weighed 120 kg. 154 vehicles were sold at an unchanged price of DM 1,285.

successor

Messerschmitt AG offered a further development as the Messerschmitt cabin scooter .
