The Fenniarail Dr18 series are diesel locomotives with diesel-electric power transmission. They are used by the Finnish railway company Fenniarail in freight train service.

history

The Dr18 series was manufactured by the CZ Loko company as a series of modernized diesel locomotives. Polish locomotives of the type S200 from industrial railway stocks served as donor locomotives , which were designated as CZ LOKO-Type 774.7F after the conversion. They were given the numbers 774 711–713 ex works, which in 2018 are written in addition to the Finnish number.

The locomotives were among others with modern electronics, Siemens - generator and new Caterpillar engine with emission standard thoroughly modernized EU IIIA. The drive motors are direct current motors . In addition, the gauge had to be adapted to the Finnish rail network.

In July 2016, the 774 711 was subjected to extensive tests on the Velim railway test ring .

In Finland they have been given the series designation Dr18 . The blue locomotives Dr18 101-103 with a top speed of 90 km / h have the EVN "92 10 2102 1XX-Y FIN-FERFI" and were delivered between September and November 2015. In addition to the corresponding series designation 774 from CZ LOKO , they are labeled with the current serial number of Fenniarail .

The first locomotive, delivered in the last week of September 2015, was tested by Fenniarail from this period . After the test drives were completed, Fenniarail ordered two more locomotives, which were delivered in autumn 2017 as Dr18 104-105 . These two locomotives only have the lettering with the serial numbers 104 and 105.

The locomotives are based in Kotka , where Fenniarail has rented two shed stands in the depot of the state railway VR-Yhtymä and are designed for freight transport and shunting.
