Ferdinand Conrad (jockey)

Ferdinand Conrad (born November 19, 1898 - † December 7, 1956 ) was a jockey in horse racing in Germany from 1919 to 1933 .

Ferdinand Conrad learned from Richard Alexander Waugh in Hoppegarten, he was a specialist in equalizing races and often rode as a lightweight jockey. His highest rate was 418: 10 in the 1921 Bajazzo race at the Grunewald racecourse . In the same year he won the Ratibor race for two-year-old horses by farewell and covered 1400 m in 1: 33.8 minutes. In 1925 the first broadcast of a horse race went over the air, and the radio conducted the first interview with the winner Conrad at the Wambeler Rennbahn . When the SA races began in 1933, he gave up horse racing and began a new professional career at Siemens.
