Ferdinand Drijkoningen

Ferdinand Frans Joseph Drijkoningen (born October 16, 1928 in Rotterdam , † 2003 ) was a Dutch romance scholar and avant-garde researcher.

Life

Drijkoningen received his doctorate in 1959 from the University of Leiden with the thesis Temps et journal intime. Essai sur l'oeuvre de Maurice de Guérin (Assen 1959). He was lecturer at the University of Amsterdam from 1970 to 1973 and full professor of French from 1973 to 1993.

From 1983 to 1984 he was a Fellow of the Netherlands Institute For Advanced Study (NIAS).

Drijkoningen's particular research interest was the avant-garde in literature. From 1976 to 1981 he was editor of the magazine Recherches sur le surréalisme. Revue bibliographique , from 1994 of the journal Avant-garde critical studies .
