Ferdinand Falkensammer

Ferdinand Falkensammer (born September 11, 1878 in Wels , Upper Austria ; † February 13, 1953 there ) was an industrialist and politician .

Life

Falkensammer's father was a businessman and owner of a corrugated cardboard factory. Ferdinand attended schools in Wels, Linz and Vienna and obtained his doctorate in law in 1902. But he devoted himself more to economic matters and soon took up leading positions in the Adler leather works and the Humanic shoe factory. But he played a key role in the expansion of Brau AG . He was also active in the electrical industry and was also co-founder and president of the St. Anton mountain railway . In addition to other managerial positions, he was President of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce from 1936 to 1938 and a member of the Presidium of the Vienna Industrial Association .

Falkensammer was from 1934 to 1938 a member of the Federal Economic Council and from 1936 to 1938 a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag responsible for industry and mining.

During his studies in 1898 he became a member of the Vienna academic fraternity Bruna Sudetia .
