Ferdinand Marohn
Ferdinand Marohn , also Ferdinand Maröhn and Ferdinand Maronio (also: Maronnio) (born before 1839 in Gransee , Brandenburg ; died after 1865) was a German genre and landscape painter . His biographical data are only partially known (see discussion page).
Marohn was born in Gransee in Brandenburg . Nothing is known about his artistic training.
From 1839 to 1843 he took part in art exhibitions at the Prussian Academy of the Arts in Berlin. From 1846 to 1859 he exhibited his works at the Paris salons .
Marohn initially lived in Germany, but moved to France around 1846 . He visited Italy , where his depictions of Italian folklore were made. In Warsaw he portrayed a noble lady.
His works are among others in the collections of the museums in Reims and Ajaccio .
