Ferdinand Zajons
Ferdinand Zajons (born March 14, 1906 in Gelsenkirchen , † April 10, 1987 ) was a German football player .
Zajons played for FC Schalke 04 since the 1928/29 season . In the summer of 1930, the left defender was one of the 14 players in the first Schalke team who were declared professionals and banned due to cash payments; the ban was lifted in the spring of 1931.
Zajons reached the final round of the German championship five times with the "Knappen". In the 1932/33 season he was runner-up with the team and a year later he was in the team that won the first German championship title for FC Schalke 04 with a 2-1 win over 1. FC Nürnberg . After the first half of 1934/35 he left the club and joined the SC Sonnborn 07 in the Niederrhein district league. From the 1936/37 season he wore the SC Gelsenkirchen 07 jersey.
In the last days of the war in 1945 he was seriously wounded and lost a leg.
