Bahía Ferguson on the Argentinian sketch map |
The Ferguson Bay is a small bay at the southeast end of Thule Iceland in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands . It represents a natural harbor and an indentation to the north between Hewison Point (with the peninsula in the east) and Herd Point (west).
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations mapped and named the bay in 1930. It is named after the Ferguson Brothers shipyard in Port Glasgow , where the research vessel RRS Discovery II was built.
