Fernando Espinosa Barrera (born May 9, 1983 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican football player who predominantly acts in midfield .

Life

Espinosa began his career in 1997 at the age of 14 with Pumas Naucalpan , a branch team of his home club Club Universidad Nacional . In the summer of 2004 he moved to the first team of the Club Universidad Nacional and immediately won the Mexican Supercup with the Pumas, for which he played his first game on August 8, 2004 .

In the following Apertura in 2004 he won his first championship title with the Pumas and was able to repeat this triumph twice (in the Clausura 2009 and in the Clausura 2011 ).

Espinosa made his debut in the Primera División on September 11, 2004 in the 1-0 victory of the Pumas at Deportivo Toluca ; his two (so far) only goals in the Primera División he scored on August 10, 2008 in a 2-1 home win against Toluca and on April 2, 2011 in the 3-1 defeat at Jaguares de Chiapas .
