Ferratum is a Finnish financial services company. It was founded in 2005 by Jorma Jokela. The company is headquartered in Helsinki and has offices in 21 other countries. The financial service provider focuses its offer on the granting of small loans . Ferratum operates a mobile app to offer its services in Europe. At the end of 2014, the company had around one million active customers.
The subsidiary Ferratum Bank Ltd is a licensed credit institution in Malta , which is responsible for the possibility of the EU-wide offer. The business model of the financial service provider includes the granting of loans between 25 and 2,000 euros, which can be obtained immediately via the app or the Internet. The company collects a fee from the borrower for the service.
The Ferratum oyj share has been traded in the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since February 6, 2015 and was listed on the SDAX from June 2015 to December 2016 .
