The Ferro Corporation is an American manufacturer of coating chemistry . The company was founded in 1919 in Cleveland by Harry Cushman, Raymond Williams, and Henry Luebbert . At that time, Ferro concentrated on industrial enamel applications for ceramic coating. Today, besides ceramic coatings, mainly glass coatings and coating materials for the electrical industry are produced. From today's headquarters in Mayfield Heights, 40 operating locations are managed worldwide, including the German subsidiary Ferro GmbH in Frankfurt / Main, which came to Ferro in 2001 through the takeover of former Degussa business units.
