The term manufacturing service provider is a translation of the English “Manufacturing Services” into German.

The manufacturing service is provided as an outsourcing service in the field of industrial manufacturing: the service can be, for example, the search for suitable producers; the production processes themselves can also be outsourced.

The advantage of the manufacturing service provider lies in the reduction of costs for the client. Cost savings result primarily from the outsourcing of labor-intensive manufacturing processes to countries with lower wages .
