The feast of Orthodoxy , also known as the Triumph of Orthodoxy , is a liturgical feast in the Orthodox churches . It is celebrated on the first Sunday in Lent before Easter and commemorates the reintroduction of the worship of images in Constantinople on March 11, 843 by the regent Theodora II and Patriarch Methodios I.
