The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim ( FIB ) is one of the most popular Spanish music festivals , which has been held annually since 1995 in the city of Benicàssim , about 80 kilometers north of Valencia . The close connection with the main sponsor, the Dutch brewery Heineken , ensures the official name FIBHeineken , but in Germany the festival is known as the Benicàssim Festival .

Musically, the line-up is largely oriented towards the indie and alternative scene, as well as the genre of electronic music .

The duration of the festival is now five days, with the first day (Thursday) offering a comparatively limited program and the last day (Monday) ending with a beach party. The number of visitors is 35,000, the area of the festival is 90,000 square meters.

The concerts and DJ sets take place on a large main stage and two smaller tent stages, each equipped with two to three video walls. In addition, the program is shown alternately on another video wall set up within a quiet zone.

In addition to the musical program, the FIB also offers presentations of various other arts, such as dance , theater , short film and fashion .

The holiday factor of the festival given by the geographical location of Benicàssim ensures an international audience (mostly from England , France and Germany ), who settle in the campsites a few days before the start of the festival and shape the cityscape. In 2006, all hotels within a 60 kilometer radius were fully booked during this time.
