Degreaser

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Degreasers are a group of organic chemical solvents - often mixtures - that fats and fatty oils ( acylglycerols , esters of glycerol ) dissolve well. Such solvents include white spirit , ethyl acetate , dichloromethane , trichlorethylene , tetrachlorethylene (perchlorethylene), tetrahydronaphthalene , carbon disulfide, etc. Such solvents are used for the extraction of fats or fatty oils from oilseeds and for the chemical cleaning of textiles.
