The Mark VII fire control radar was used by the Swiss Air Force from 1958 to 1967 in a number of twelve .

commitment

The Mark VII fire control radar replaced the searchlights and listening devices in the Swiss Air Force .

In subsequent operation, the Mark VII fire control radar determined the measuring point elements, side angles, attitude angles and distance from flight targets for the calculation of the shooting elements required for shooting with the heavy air defense, side elevation and temperature control by the command unit 43 / 50R. There was an automatic data transfer to the command unit 43 / 50R. It is also possible to use the Mark VII fire control radar to receive and process data from the TPS-1E target assignment radar .

The air-conditioned two-axle cabin trailer houses the radar, control panel with two screens, the servo drive for controlling the parabolic antenna, the META parallax computer, the SE-411 radio station and a field telephone.

It was replaced in 1965 by the Superfledermaus fire control device from Oerlikon Contraves .
