history
Fiat-Allis was founded in 1974 as a joint venture between Fiat and Allis-Chalmers . Fiat initially held 65% of this joint venture, Allis-Chalmers 35%. The entire range of construction machinery from Fiat and Allis-Chalmers was sold worldwide under the name Fiat-Allis. In 1985 Fiat acquired the remaining 15% stake in this joint venture from Allis-Chalmers. In 1989 production in North America was stopped. Construction machinery for the North American market was henceforth imported from Europe and Brazil. After Fiat had acquired a majority stake in the agricultural and construction machinery company New Holland in 1991 , Fiat-Allis ceased operations in North America at the end of 1992. The Fiat-Allis brand is currently owned by CNH Global but is no longer used. In Argentina, Fiat-Allis was produced by Crybsa. This product under license 605-B excavator, C-130 and 7D crawler tractor.
