Fibrae obliquae

The fibrae obliquae (lat .: oblique fibers) are smooth muscle fibers in the wall of the stomach . They can be found mainly in the area of ​​the gastric fundus , the anterior and posterior walls and parallel to the lesser curvature. In addition to the circular and longitudinal stratum, they represent a further muscle layer that can only be found in this form in the stomach. The fibrae obliquae are located between the tela submucosa and the stratum circulare of the tunica muscularis .
