Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) is an American company that offers software for the financial services sector and the processing of financial transactions.

The history of FIS goes back to 1962. In that year the predecessor company Computer Power Incorporated was founded. Since then, the company has grown primarily through a large number of mergers. In 2004, FIS took over Kordoba GmbH . Since the merger with Certegy on February 1, 2006, FIS has been traded on the New York Stock Exchange . The company is listed there in the S&P 500 . In 2015, FIS acquired SunGard . FIS has business relationships with more than 20,000 financial service providers, including most of the world's largest banks.

In 2017, the company employed approximately 53,000 people and had sales of $ 9.1 billion.

In March 2019 it was announced that FIS wants to take over Worldpay . The takeover was completed at the end of July 2019.
